Veterans of all the country's wars and conflicts at Westbrook Park for the Greater Canton Veterans Council "Veteran of the Year" ceremony. A large crowd gathered to salute the council's Veteran of the Year, Melvin Schlabach, 76, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force. Schlabach, a Canton resident, is a past president of the council and remains active in veterans affairs.
