  • Ziggy, the white cat that roamed free inside the Canton Veterinary Hospital, remained at large on Wednesday, a day after fire severely damaged the building, but he was found safe and sound Thursday morning. Dr. Richard Wade and his wife, Deborah, believe the feline was likely startled by a firefighter responding to the smoke-filled, burning brick building that has been the cat's home for the past six years. An orphaned kitten was the only fatality at the fire that did $40,000 in damage to the Canton Veterinary Hospital at 3123 Cleveland Ave. NW. Firefighters continued to investigate the cause of the blaze.
