Abe Would Feel at Home, Here

  • 21 photos for sale Buy a Photo
  • A Damascus woman has turned part of her home into a museum honoring President Abraham Lincoln. Debbie Frederick's husband, Steve, doesn't mind that she is enamored with another man. Perhaps it's because the man is 200 years old. Frederick is an avid collector of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia; so much so that she is dedicated an entire room in her home to the nation's 16th president, whose birthday is today.

“Whispering Wind”

  • 7 photos for sale Buy a Photo
  • Saeko Ichinohe, a prominent Japanese choreographer from New York City, recently spent 10 days in Canton teaching Canton Ballet dancers a new work she created for them. Titled Whispering Wind, the dance centers on a boy walking through the woods who feels a wind blowing. The ballet's female dancers portray the wind. Male dancers dressed in black will carry the girls against a black backdrop, giving the illusion they are flying. "Whispering Wind" will be part of Canton Ballet's spring season April 3 and 4 at the Palace Theatre. The Japanese-themed program is a tie-in with the Canton Museum of Art's "Kimono As Art" exhibition.
