Date: 11/9/2009 Album ID: 882978
Photos by Repository / Scott Heckel
Small-game hunting season is underway. Animals that can be hunted include cottontail rabbits, squirrels, grouse and ring-necked pheasants. About 1,900 pheasants were released in batches around Northeast Ohio last week by state wildlife officials to help hunters. None of the birds were released in Stark County, but in Tuscarawas County near Beach City, roughly 180 birds were sent into the wild.
