The new federal building being built in Canton will be named the Ralph Regula Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in honor of the Republican's lengthy career as 16th District congressman.
Construction began earlier this year at McKinley Avenue and Third Street SW. The $14 million building should open in June 2010 and will replace the Frank T. Bow Federal Building at Cleveland Avenue and Second Street SW.
Regula, who lives in Bethlehem Township, served as Stark County's congressman from 1973 until his retirement in January.
