Ring Neck Pheasants Release

- Small-game hunting season opens statewide today, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Animals that can be hunted include cottontail rabbits, squirrels, grouse and ring-necked pheasants.
About 1,900 pheasants were released in batches around Northeast Ohio on Thursday by state wildlife officials to help hunters.
None of the birds were released in Stark County, but in Tuscarawas County near Beach City, roughly 180 birds were sent into the wild.

- CANTON About 4,000 fans from a wide geographic radius turned out for Bob Dylan's Thursday concert at Canton Memorial Civic Center. The two-hour crowd-pleaser included "Like a Rolling Stone," "All Along the Watchtower" and blues-rock songs from Dylan's most recent albums.
